    Hello Dr,

My daughter has eczema in addition to autism and although her skin is much better after implementing a GFCF diet, she will consistently wake up around 3 hours after first falling asleep after which we have to try to get her back to sleep again. There may be some scratching as well. She will usually wake up subsequently again, although it is usually much easier to get her back to sleep in the later wake-ups.
Do you think this is a behavioural issue or something else. Also, could you suggest what we could do to help her sleep through the night ? She is now 5.5 years old.

    Thanks,
    Colin

      Colin,
Do you think your daughter is waking up because she is uncomfortable? With itching?

Typically, a little melatonin at night can help with sleep. New Beginnings Nutritionals – https://nbnus.com for example has a Melatonin 1mg tablet when taken about 30 minutes to 1 hour before bedtime can help with sleep.
